Osamu Watanabe

Osamu Watanabe is a Japanese visual art artist born in 1980. He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 2003, majored in design. Watanabe gained popularity from his unique use of sweets as an art form, making him one of the pioneers in this medium. His fame led to appearances on Japanese TV shows, and he held many solo exhibitions in Japan, China, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, the United States, and South Korea, resulting in international recognition. Inspired by classical subjects in art history, Watanabe creates artwork challenging traditional values. His famous series focuses on animal themes, and he also works on projects like adding cream to famous artworks, crafting landscapes with faux cream, and depicting decorated world heritage sites.
