Widayat (1919–2002) was an Indonesian painter known for his unique style, which combined elements of traditional Javanese art with modern techniques. Born on March 9, 1919, in Kutoarjo, Central Java, Widayat showed an interest in art from a young age, drawing inspiration from Javanese culture and traditional arts. Before becoming a painter, he worked as a cartographer for the Japanese army during World War II. After the war, he continued his studies at the Indonesian Fine Arts Academy (ASRI) in Yogyakarta, where he honed his artistic skills and began his art career.
