Dolorosa Sinaga, a female sculptor, was born on October 31, 1953, in Sibolga, North Sumatra. Her interest in sculpture became evident after she pursued her education in fine arts (sculpture) at the Jakarta Institute of the Arts. To further deepen her knowledge of the art form, she continued her education at St. Martin's School of Art in London, England. She also expanded her expertise at Karnarija Lubliyana, Yugoslavia, and at Piero’s Art Foundry in Berkeley, United States.
